From Gerald in Virginia:
These binoculars provide excellent optical quality at a very competitive price. Images are sharp and bright. Color definition is very good and there is no fringing. In addition to using them for birding (alas, we are in the summer doldrums except for ospreys and gulls) I use them to watch ships in the Elizabeth River at Hampton roads from my condo window. The binoculars are sharp enough to read the ships' names even when they are at a considerable distance.
The focus knob is somewhat further back than it is on my other binoculars, and I would like to see it brought forward; if you hold your hands back where the knob is located, the binoculars are unbalanced. The only significant problem is that when you approach the limits of close focusing the view from the two eyepieces is not superimposed and if you need to use them at this distance for any period of time, you have to reset the intraocular distance.
All in all, I have no regrets about purchasing these optics.
