Bushnell Elite 8x43 Binoculars

From Henry in Costa Rica/California:

Bushnell Elite binoculars in the rainforest.
Rating: 4 (of 5)

I am an interpretive naturalist working in Costa Rica. I am in the rainforest much of the time guiding clients. My Bushnell binoculars have been a great asset to my guiding. The Bushnell Elites give a very sharp, clear view even in fairly dark conditions. They also have held up very well in the wet, humid climate that I work and live in. I recommend these Bushnell Elites, they are superb binoculars. I have had other more expensive binoculars in the past and the Bushnell Elites measure up to any of those.

But from Ron in Colorado:
Rating: 2 (of 5)

After owning the older model Bushnell Elites for several years, I purchased the newer model. I am very disappointed with the current Bushnell Elite binoculars. The strap fastener to the binoculars is a very poor design, not allowing for an attachment of any other kind of strap or a harness strap. The eyepiece adjustment for going between eyeglass users and non eye glass is very poor and very difficult to use - it sticks, the rubber covering pulls off easily, and sometimes will just not pull out. The optics in my opinion are inferior to the old design. I consider the less expensive Nikon Monarch binoculars to be a better buy than the Bushnell Elites in all aspects.
